Mossman’s Top Sirloin Chili

A great recipe to go with beers on my blog

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb. top sirloin cut in ½ – ¾  inch pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 onions minced
  • 8 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 seeded and minced jalapeno peppers
  • 1/3 c. chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 – 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 – 15 oz can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 tbs red wine vinegar
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 bottle of beer (I used stout)
  • 3 tbs olive oil
  • *optional beans: 1-15 oz can black beans drained and rinsed, 1-15 oz can pinto beans drained and rinsed

 

Suggested toppings:

  • Fritos or tortilla chips
  • grated cheese: Colby jack or 4 cheese Mexican
  • sour cream
  • chopped cilantro
  • hot sauce of choice

 

Directions:

Heat 1 tbs olive oil in large pot or Dutch oven over medium high heat. Brown 1/3 of meat. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from pan and set aside.
